The Server Blade

The DDR-RAM modules and hard disk drives must be installed on the
server blades before these will be inserted in the corresponding locations
(slots).
In order to use additional controllers the server blade Pentium
®
M can be
expanded with a LAN-PCI module or a FC-PCI module (see section “PCI
Modules” on page 78). An expanded server blade occupies two slots in the
server system.

A server blade expanded with a PCI module cannot be installed in the
slot numbers 10 and 20.
8.2.1
CPU
The mono CPU server blade Pentium
®
M is equipped with one
Intel
®
Pentium
®
M standard processor.
The processors are automatically sensed by VRM (Voltage Regulator Module)
without hardware change.
All CPUs are equipped with 1 MB second level cache (SLC) on chip.
8.2.2
Memory
On the server blade Pentium
®
M there are two 168-pin dual inline memory
module (DIMM) sockets. These can be populated with 512 MB,1 GB or 2 GB
registered DDR RAM modules. The maximum memory expansion is 4 GB. It is
possible to mount one or two DDR RAM modules.
