Configuring the Server Blade
This section contains information about configuring the server blade and
installing the operating system.
The operating system can be installed in various ways:
– Local installation with or without the ServerView Installation Manager
You can find information on local installation in the following sections.
– Remote installation using console redirection via the user interface of the
ServerView Management Blade. Please refer to the following manuals for
more information on Advanced Video Redirection:

Apart from this, the operating system installation is carried out in the same
way as a local installation.

Preparing for local installation
Connect the monitor, mouse, keyboard and a DVD drive to the port on the
server blade control panel with the aid of the special Y cable. See
"Connecting
devices" on page 42
.

Make sure that the energy saving functions are disabled in the
Power
menu of the BIOS Setup during operation, and that the DVD drive has
been activated as a boot medium.
