Verify the settings on the new system board (jumpers and/or switch).

Carefully remove the processor from its socket on the defective system
board as described in
section "Removing processors" on page 191
.

CAUTION!
Be careful not to touch or bend the pins on the processor socket!
I
Always replace the socket cover if you remove the processor from the
socket.

Install the processor on the new system board as described in
"Installing processors" on page 184
.

Since the defective system board is sent back for repair, protect the
delicate processor socket springs with a socket cover.
