If applicable, remove the mezzanine carrier as described in chapter

Ensure that the drives are uniquely identified so that you can reinsert
them into their original locations after replacing the backplane.

Remove the 4 screws from the mounting frame as described in section

Loosen the two screws (see arrows) of the defective SAS / PCH backplane.

Remove the defective SSD SAS / PCH backplane from the mounting frame.
