CAUTION!
Before you pull out any internal hard disk modules cabled in this way, you
must remove the SCSI cables from the cable clips.
All other cables, such as the AEMI or CAN bus cables, can be laid as described
in the section “Unlimited cable laying” below.
If you pull out an internal hard disk module later for which the cable has been
laid as described above, follow these steps:
Ê
Take the SCSI cables out of the cable clips.
Ê
Pull and push the internal hard disk module out and in carefully so that no
cables are pulled off or become pinched.
Ê
Place the SCSI cables back into the cable clips.
Unlimited cable laying
For SCSI LVD operation, the SCSI cables can be fastened to the articulated
cable guides. The internal hard disk modules can thus be pulled out later
without any further preparations.
Ê
Route the cables via the articulated cable guide, and secure them with cable
ties.
Ê
Check to see if the internal hard disk modules can be pulled out without
breaking or overstretching the SCSI cables.
DataCenter rack
When installing the server in the DataCenter rack, the cable management
system must first be mounted. Further information can be found in the technical
manual for the DataCenter rack.
Ê
Route the cables in the articulated cable guide (1) of the cable management
system, and secure them using the delivered cable ties.
Ê
Route the cables around the cable management guide (2) (see figure 10 on
page 34).
