Chapter 4 Manual OS Installation

Before Starting Operation
After OS installation, refer to "Chapter 5 Operations after OS Installation" (
pg.133) and perform the
necessary procedures.

For Onboard SCSI Configuration
When the array is not configured, and OS is installed in the hard disk drive connected with an onboard
SCSI controller, modify the registry for the onboard SCSI controller before starting operation.
If operation begins without this setting, the error on PCI bus may occur when Windows shuts down.

Log on with administrator privileges.

Insert the ServerStart Disc 1 CD-ROM.

Click [Start]
→
[Run...], enter a file name as follows and click [OK].
[CD-ROM drive] :\Programs\SCSICONF\setreg.bat
When the registry settings are completed, the following message appears.

Press the [Enter] key.
The message window closes.
The new registry settings are enabled after restarting the system.
4.2.2 Installing Windows Server 2003

Create driver disks.
Prepare necessary drivers before installing Windows Server 2003.
Some drivers are created from the ServerStart CD-ROM.
For how to create driver disks, refer to "4.1 Creating Driver Disks" (
