CD-ROM Drive Unit / DVD-ROM Drive Unit

Cannot read data
• Check to see whether the CD-ROM is inserted properly.
If it is not inserted, correctly insert the CD-ROM so that the label is facing up.
• Check to see whether the CD-ROM is dirty.
If it is dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
• Check to see whether the CD-ROM is scratched or bent.
If scratched or damaged, replace the CD-ROM.

The unit does not operate properly
Check to see whether the internal cable is connected properly.
If it is not connected, correctly connect the internal cable. For the connection location, refer to "7.7
Connection of Optional Devices" (

System Fan
The server has five system fans. Contact an office listed in the "Contact Information" of "Start Guide"
when a system fan fails.

The system fan cable has been disconnected
Connect the cable as follows.
• If the fan cable is disconnected from the extension cable
Connect fans 4 and 5 to an extension cable so they become one cable.
• If the extension cable is disconnected from the baseboard connector
Connect to the connector of fan 4/5.
