System fan
Safety notes

CAUTION!
●
Do not damage or modify internal cables or devices. Doing so may
cause a device failure, fire, or electric shock.
●
Devices and components inside the server remain hot after
shutdown. After shutting down the server, wait for hot components to
cool down before installing or removing internal options.
●
Circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed and
can be damaged by static electricity. Always discharge static build-up
(e.g. by touching a grounded object) before handling electrostatic-
sensitive devices (ESDs).
●
Do not touch the circuitry on boards or soldered parts. Hold circuit
boards by their metallic areas or edges.
●
If devices are installed or disassembled using methods other than
those outlined in this chapter, the warranty will be invalidated.

8.1
Basic information
The following fans are available:
– five system fans included in a system fan box (12x 3.5-inch version)
– two or three (redandant option) system fans included in a system fan box
(1CPU, 2.5-inch. variant and 8x 3.5-inch variant )
– three or four (redandant option) system fans included in a system fan box
(2CPU, 2.5-inch. variant and 8x 3.5-inch variant )
– up to two fans, that are integral parts of the power supply units and cannot
be replaced separately

The fan redundancy is optional availabe for all configurations, except for
the 12x 3.5-inch version. This system version is always assembled with
5 fans, without any redundancy
