Memory Mirroring Function
Memory mirroring uses two or four memory boards. The available capacity (logical capacity) of the
memory is the half of that of the physical memory. One memory board is set as primary and the other as
secondary. Data is written to both memories. If a memory error occurs, that memory board is
automatically detached while the other memory board continues to operate. The function is
automatically restored after replacing the failed memory or memory board.
Installation Conditions
Install the memory according to the following conditions.
: Memory installed
- : Memory not installed
• A mirror set consists of two memory boards. The capacity of each memory board can be different.
Two mirror sets can be configured by the combinations of Memory Board A and B, and Memory
Board C and D.
• Install memory modules with the same capacity in each memory board in the mirror set (Memory
Board A and B, Memory Board C and D).
• The capacity of the memory modules of Bank 1 and Bank 2 on the memory board can be different. In
this case, install the module with smaller capacity in Memory Bank 1.
