Shutting down the server

This step is only required when upgrading or replacing non-hot plug
components.
Ê
Inform the system administrator that the server will be shut down and put
offline.
Ê
Terminate all applications.
Ê
Perform the required procedures described in the preliminary steps of each
upgrade or maintenance task.
Ê
Shut down the server.
I
If the system is running an ACPI-compliant operating system,
pressing the On / Off button will perform a graceful shutdown.
Ê
Switch on the ID indicator on the front and rear connector panels of the
server as described in section
"Locating the defective server" on page 43
.

Disconnecting the server from the mains

Pull out on the locking lever on the cable tie (1) and loosen the loop (2).
