Added Drive Reported as Defective
This error message can occur on both the SATA and SAS versions of the server
if the server has a RAID controller.
SAS hard disk drive already configured
A SAS hard disk drive is reported as defective if an existing configuration is
found.

Remove the HDD configuration.
Ê
Re-insert the HDD module in an available slot while the system is switched
on.
If the drive continues to be reported as defective, then replace it (see section
“Installing/Removing HDD/Dummy Unit” on page 90
or

Re-insert a new HDD module in an available slot while the system is
switched on.
RAID controller is not configured for this drive
The drive was installed when the system was switched off.
Ê
Reconfigure the RAID controller for the drive using the corresponding utility.
Information is provided in the documentation for the RAID controller.
