PCI SAS controller with MegaRAID functionality
RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 5, 50, 6 and 60 are supported. As an option, a battery
backup unit (BBU) can save the memory content even if the power fails.
I
The controller makes a separate utility available for RAID configu-
ration. For further information, refer to the “SAS/SATA Controller
MegaRAID 1064 / 1068 / 1078 Installation Guide” on the Server-
Books DVD (select “Controllers” from the menu).
Accessible drives
A 3.5-inch bay can hold a 3.5-inch floppy disk drive (1.44 Mbyte).
Three 5.25-inch bays are available for additional accessible drives:
–
The individual bays can be equipped with CD/DVD drives or magnetic tape
drives.
–
Alternatively, two of these bays can be used to install a HDD extension box
(only for 2.5-inch SAS hard disk drives).
–
An individual bay can be equipped with a slimline CD/DVD drive. A
ServerView Local Service Display or a ServerView Local Service Panel can
also be installed.
The accessible drives cannot be replaced during operation.
Power supply
In the basic configuration, the server has a fixed power supply unit. One or two
redundant hot-plug power supply units are available as an option. If a power
supply unit is defective, in a redundant configuration the other unit ensures that
the operation can continue with no interruptions. The defective power supply
unit can be replaced without interrupting operation. Both power supply unit
versions automatically adjust to a mains voltage in the range 100 V - 240 V.
