This manual describes the hardware of the XG0440.

Switch Port Side
The XG0440DC is used as an example.
The front and back direction of the rack mounting brackets attached to the side of the switch is reversed for the XG0440DC
and XG0440DCR.

Rack Mounting Brackets
A metal fitting which attaches to the back side of the rack to fix the switch onto the rack.

MAC address Label
This indicates the MAC addresses assigned to the switch.
•
Product Part Number, Serial Number Label
The label is provided for easy access to product information for inventory purposes at
the port side of the switch.
•
10/100/1000BASE-T Ports
10/100/1000BASE-T Ports. These ports for connecting to Ethernet (10/100/1000BASE-
T) Network Equipment.
Please use Category 5 LAN cable (if 1000BASE-T, use Category 5E or above) for
cabling.

SFP+ Slots
Receptacles for SFP+ optical transceivers and Direct Attach copper (TWINAX) cable
assemblies.
Port numbers are assigned from the upper left to the lower right port receptacles.

A RS232 Crossover (Null Modem) Cable is not included in the product package
•
USB memory is not included in the product package
