6.2 Uploading/Downloading Configuration File
The configuration file, which has been generated in the XG700, can be uploaded to a TFTP server. Also, when an uploaded
configuration file is downloaded from a TFTP server, the configuration of the XG700 can be restored.
This section describes the procedures involved in uploading/downloading a configuration file.
6.2.1 Preparing the TFTP Server
Before uploading and/or downloading configuration files using a TFTP server, carry out the following procedures.
Check that the management LAN and the workstation or other machine which is operating as the TFTP server of the
XG700, have been set up appropriately to see the communication between the TFTP server and the management
LAN has no problems.
Check that the access privilege of the root directory is readable/writeable in the TFTP server.
When downloading the configuration file, check that the configuration file uploaded to the TFTP server is located in the
correct place in the root directory.
6.2.2 Uploading Configuration File
This section describes the procedures for uploading the configuration (startup-config) file to a TFTP server.
1. After you log into the XG700, use the "
enable
" command to switch to administrator EXEC mode.
xg> enable
2. Upload the configuration (startup-config) file to TFTP server "host1" as filename "start_conf_20050822".
xg# show startup-config | tftp host1 start_conf_20050822
3. Lastly, check that the size of configuration file uploaded to a TFTP server is the same as that of the source
configuration file.
6.2.3 Downloading Configuration File
This section describes the procedures for downloading the configuration file that has been uploaded to a TFTP server to the
XG700 as startup-config file.
