How to measure the gap in the drive shaft gear
1. Unfasten six screw to remove the drive shaft gear cover.
2. Use a gap gauge to measure the gap between the fixed core and moving core.
See the preceding page. Insert the leaf of the gap gauge horizontally to the place
of measurement. Take the measurement. Measure the gap at three places.
3. If the gap measured at step 2 is approx. 0.65 mm, do the following to reduce the
gap. (If the 0.6 mm leaf can be inserted, do steps 1) to 5) below.)
1) Check that the motor brake release lever is locked.
2) Loosen hex nut (2) (3 places) so the gap between the moving core and fixed
core is 0.15 to 0.3 mm.
3) Tighten hex nut (1) (3 places) so the gap is 0.15 to 0.30 mm. (Confirm that the
0.2 mm leaf can be inserted, but the 0.3 mm leaf cannot.)
4) Tighten hex nut (2).
5) Check that the gap is between 0.15 and 0.30 mm.
4. Fasten the drive shaft gear cover.
