This control is similar to the interference re ector on echo sounders and radars. It is
effective for re ecting random noise and sea surface reflections in rough sea condi-
tions. Set it so that noise is ust eliminated. o not use an unnecessarily high setting
since it may also re ect small wanted echoes.

Note:
In some cases the frequency can not be changed because of operating band-
width. In this case the frequency setting is grayed.
Noi e imiter
Weak, unwanted reflections, colored light-blue or green, appear when the water is
dirty, plankton layers exists, or due to ship s noise. The noise limiter can reduce the
effects of these unwanted reflections. Raising the setting causes unwanted reflections
to be displayed in colors of blue to background color.
