Display Range
The
RANGE
knob selects the de-
tection range and nine ranges are
preset at the factory.
The following table shows the de-
fault settings for the display range
(unit: m).
Note:
Ranges can be preset at [5 Scan Range] (located at [5 Record/Recall/Register]
→
[7 Register]). See section 9.1.2.
Turn the
RANGE
knob to select a range. Turn clockwise to increase the range, count-
er-clockwise to decrease the range.
The range selected is momentarily displayed in large characters at the top of the
screen. Range is always displayed next to “R” at the top right-hand corner of the
screen.
Note:
The range can also be adjusted from the range indication. Put the cursor on the
range indication to highlight it in yellow then spin the scrollwheel.

Tilt Angle
The tilt angle shows the direction to which the sound wave is emitted. When the sound
wave is emitted horizontally, the tilt angle is said to be 0° and when vertically, 90°. The
tilt angle can be set between -5° (upward) to 90° (downward), in increments of 1°.
To manually set a tilt angle, operate the
TILT
control. Watch the tilt angle indication
and tilt angle indicator is momentarily displayed in large characters at the top of the
screen. The tilt angle is always displayed next to “T” at the top right hand corner of the
screen.
Select the tilt angle depending on target fish. For surface fish select a shallow angle
(about 5°) and for bottom fish, a deep angle.
In the tilt cross-section mode, the current tilt angle is used for the center angle of the
auto tilt. Therefore, the center angle of the auto tilt for the tilt cross-section mode is
changed when you adjust the tilt angle.
