2.4.2
Automatic tilt
The
AUTO TILT
key automatically scans the tilt angle within the selected width. This
is useful when you want to find the center depth of a school of fish. You can set the
range for automatic tilt at [1 Auto Tilt Range] (located at [9 Installation Setting]
→
[2
Operation Setting]
→
[6 Sweep/Tilt Settings]). See section 9.3.3.
Note:
Auto tilt is not available when the transducer is retracted, or when Target Lock
is active.
1. Press the
AUTO TILT
key to turn the function on. Press the
AUTO TILT
key again
to toggle between on and off. Each time the function is turned on or off, an indica-
tion appears momentarily on the screen.
The auto tilt function adjusts the angle evenly to either side of the starting point.
However, when the range is set to [±2~±10°], [±4~±16°] or [±6~±20°], the move-
ment range of the auto tilt changes according to the range selected. See the table
below for reference.
Further, when auto tilt is active, the indication AUTO appears at the top right-hand
corner of the screen, next to the tilt angle. The current auto tilt angle also appears
(in parentheses) below the tilt indication.
2. If necessary operate the
TILT
control to change the center of the tilt range.
3. To disable auto tilt, press the
AUTO TILT
key again.
Automatic tilt angles with
AUTO TILT
key
For example, when the
RANGE
,
TILT
and [1 Auto Tilt Range] key are set to 800 m,
30° and [±4~±16°] respectively, the tilt angle changes at each transmission as follows:
30°
→
42°
→
30°
→
18°
→
30° (Based on the above table, 800m range has a 12° auto tilt
range. Therefore, the tilt angle of 30° is the start point and that auto tilt moves ±12° to
either side of the start point).
Note 1:
The
AUTO TILT
key is inoperative when the target lock function is active or
is made active. Auto tilt is resumed once target lock is disabled.
Note 2:
If the
RESET TILT
key is pressed while auto tilt is active, the center (tilt angle)
is moved to 0°.
