How to adjust the RX bandwidth (Auto Filter)
You can adjust the inbound (RX) bandwidth automatically or manually. When this
function is enabled, the Auto Filter function automatically adjusts the inbound band-
width to display echoes stably, even at high speeds (up to 18 knots). The Auto Filter
also compensates for propeller noise and interference from other vessels.
This function requires appropriate data input. For details, see "DATA INPUT
REQUIREMENTS" on page AP-12.
1. Open the menu.
2. Select [1 TX/RX Setting], then left-click.
3. Select [6 Bandwidth], then left-click.
4. Select the required setting, then left-click.
• [OFF]: Disables the automatic adjustment, leaving the bandwidth at it widest.
Noise may be shown on the screen with this setting.
• [Wide]: Retains a wide bandwidth. Noise is reduced slightly.
• [Middle]: Adjust the bandwidth to mid-range. This is the most commonly used
setting, with average noise reduction.
• [Narrow]: Narrows the beam. Noise reduction is large.
Note:
Selecting [Narrow] may cause fast moving fish, such as tuna, to be lost due
to noise/gain adjustments.
5. Select [Quit], then left-click.
6. Close the menu.
2.10.6
Noise limiter
Weak, unwanted reflections, colored light-blue or green, are caused by dirty water,
plankton layers, or ship's noise. The noise limiter can reduce the effects of these un-
wanted reflections. Raising the setting causes unwanted reflections to be displayed in
colors of blue-to-background color.
1. Open the menu.
2. Select [3 Display Setting], then left-click.
3. Select [1 Noise Limiter], then left-click.
4. Left-click the
S
or
T
button to select the desired setting.
The setting range is [0] to [10]. A higher value reduces more noise.
5. Select [Quit], then left-click.
6. Close the menu.
