General functionality
The handling and configuration of the digital message player APS-24.1 can be done via PC.
1. When switching on the system, the ON LED at the APS-24.1 is blinking for 30 sec. After this time the LED illuminates constantly and the
device is ready for use. If more than one LED illuminate, wait 1 min for an automatic restart.
2. Then the
Login
with
User name
and
Password
is needed. For this, use a Browser like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. If the device
is not configured the User name is admin and the password is password. Three access levels with different access authorizations are
available: Administrator, Manager and User.
After the handover to the customer it is strongly recommended to change the administrator password.
3. After that, the settings for LAN, date, time and time zone as well as the assignment of the passwords must be done. At not configured
devices, the IP address is 192.168.0.2.
IMPORTANT
: By pressing the
Reset button
for longer than 5 sec, the device will be set back to the basic configuration.
4. Also the definition of the
Functions
is necessary. The functions are used for the activation of layers as well for the assignments of
messages to certain loudspeaker zones. Examples: layer for playback, advertisement just in the selling area, information messages in
all rooms.
IMPORTANT
: The functions must be in accordance with the programming of the APS-990. Do not alter the functions at completely
delivered systems.
5. The
Upload
of MP3 files with the help of the PC up to the device is the basic for working with Consoles and Time schedules. Two types
of files are existing:
Message
or
Gong signal
. The messages can be placed in the category
Files
not in a folder
or in self created
Folders
.
IMPORTANT:
After the Upload of files a restart of the APS-24.1 (Click on the accordant menu item) is necessary.
6. Use
Time schedules
for the definition of the automatically time-controlled playback of
Files
or
Folders
.
7. By using the
READ
button the configuration of the device can be transferred to a
USB
stick. By pressing the
WRITE
button for a longer
time, a configuration from a USB stick to the device will be transferred. After disengaging the accordingly button, the green USB LED
illuminates while data transfer (until version V1.10).
