6.3 Acknowledging display codes
When programming mode is activated, existing display codes are acknowledged and are
subsequently no longer displayed. Once programming mode has been exited, the controller
B-54900-01-2-8 can be used once again in the usual manner. Display codes must be acknowledged
before a test run can be performed or the hold-open time can be modified.
Once the display codes have been acknowledged, you must exit programming mode by removing the
service plug. Then again insert the service plug in order to be able to program the hold-open time or
perform a test run.
6.4 Changing the hold-open time
The trigger hold-open time is set in the controller B-54900-01-2-8 to 7 s. If this is not enough time to
operate the door system, the hold-open time can be adjusted within a range of 3–30 s in 1 s
increments.
To change the hold-open time, put the controller B-54900-01-2-8 in programming mode
(see Fig. 24.1–3). Any existing display codes must be acknowledged (see point 6.3) before
programming can be carried out.
The new hold-open time can then be programmed by briefly actuating the latch switching contact
several times. Each actuation corresponds to a hold-open time of 1 s, e.g. 5 actuations correspond
to a hold-open time of 5 s, see Fig. 25. If the latch is actuated fewer than 3 times, the minimum hold-
open time of 3 s is set. If the latch is actuated more than 30 times, only the maximum hold-open
time of 30 s is programmed.
The set value can be saved by actuating the latch switching contact for more than 5 s.
You can then exit programming mode by removing the service plug.
If you remove the service plug without actuating the latch switching contact for at least 5 s
beforehand, the hold-open time will be reset to the factory setting of 7 s.
