2.2 Suitability For Use
Crossing Telephones are suitable for connection to either loop disconnect or
multifrequency (tone) dialling telephone lines.
Connection may
NOT
be made to shared service (party) lines.
The telephone is
NOT
suitable for connection to a PABX which returns
secondary proceed indication
2.3 Preparation

2.3.1 Light Panel Current Selection
It is possible to give the legend panel and PRESS button illumination by wiring
the connections 1 and 2 together. A jumper is available to select, 5mA, or 1mA
of current from the line. The jumper is supplied in the 5mA position, (maximum
light output). For 1mA the jumper must be left off. It is advisable to select the
maximum current setting possible to give the best light output.
2.3.2 Timer Selection
Set the call time-out selector as required. If set to the ENABLE position, calls
will terminate after approximately 7 minutes even if the handset is still off hook.
