Feeding the Load through the Maintenance
Bypass
WARNING
After the following procedure is performed, voltage will
exist on the UPS Output.
After the UPS has been installed, if essential, it is possible to feed the load
from the external power source by operating the MAINTENANCE BYPASS
C.B. without operating the UPS unit:
1.
Remove the cover of the
MAINTENANCE BYPASS
C.B. (see
Figure 15 on page 19.) Place the cover and screws in a secure place
for future use. All other circuit breakers should remain OFF, with
their protective cover intact.
Note:
The Auxiliary switch, located next to the MAINTENANCE
BYPASS, functions as a safety circuit breaker. In the event that both the
MAINTENANCE BYPASS and INPUT CHARGER circuit breakers are
turned ON simultaneously during UPS operation, the Auxiliary switch
trips and shuts OFF the MAINTENANCE BYPASS C.B..
2.
Inform the customer that you are about to connect power to the load.
3.
Verify with the customer that the main switch of the load is turned OFF.
4.
When given permission to do so, turn the MAINTENANCE BYPASS
C.B. ON.
