3.8  Digital Communicator Operation (7100-D Model)

The 7100-D digital communicator model features numerous formats for communication to a 
central station. The 7100-D provides the following functions:

Line seizure - takes control of the phone lines, disconnecting any premises phones using the 
same lines.

Off/On-Hook - perform on and off-hook status to phone lines.

Listen for dial tone - 440 Hz tone typical in most networks.

Dialing the Central Station phone number – programmable.

Discern proper Central Station “ACK” and “Kiss-off” tone.

Transmit data to the Central Station.

Verify that data has been accepted by the Central Station.

Hang-up and release phone lines.

Communicate in a variety of formats.
