LPI Configuration Entry setup window
Power Device
The dropdown box allows selecting the electronic load or programmable power supply
in use. The remaining fields in the setup window populate automatically after selecting a
load or power supply.
If your load or power supply is not in the list, you need a Power Device configuration file.
Please contact your Gamry representative to discuss your options.
Number of Current
Ranges
Specifies how many ranges the load or power supply has. Many power supplies or loads
may only have one range as shown in the image. Please select the appropriate number
of ranges.
IE Range
Specifies the maximum current for each available IE Range. Depending on the entered
number of current ranges, one separate entry is added to the IE Range setup. Enter the
current ranges in ascending order. Enter the maximum current of your load or power
supply if only a single range is available. It is important to enter these number
accurately.
The LPI1010 uses these values in combination with the Full Scale Output value. Setting a
voltage on the output results in a current at the cell proportional to the IE Range values
entered here.
Full Scale Input /
Full Scale Output
The value of the measurement full-scale voltage is entered in the Full Scale Input field.
The value of the control full scale is entered in the Full Scale Output. The LPI1010 can
use voltages b1 V and +10 V for either of these fields.
The first two entries in the LPI Configuration Entry dialog box are used to scale the
current measurement and control signals. Most commercial loads and power supplies
apply full-scale current when +10 volts is applied to their remote programming input.
Likewise, most commercial loads and power supplies report full-scale current when +10
volts is set on the current monitor signal. The specifications of the Load/Power Supply
should tell you these values.
8)
After all parameters in the LPI Configuration Entry configuration are entered, all settings are stored in the
non-volatile memory within the LPI1010 itself. If the load/power supply is not changed, you can run
experiments without re-entering the configuration every time. However, if you want to use a different
load/power supply, you must re-enter the configuration for the new load/power supply or you risk
applying an incorrect current to your cell. Contact your local Gamry Representative if you want to add a
new load or power supply to the dropdown box.
Caution:
An incorrect Load/Power Supply configuration can lead to hazardous conditions.
You must verify the configuration before starting any experiment.
