Configuring the network interfaces
How to configure the settings of a network interface:
1. In the menu, click on
KVM switches
.
2. Click on the device you want to configure and then click on
Configuration
.
3. Click on the tab
Network
.
4. Select the section
Interfaces
.
5. Enter the following values under
Interface A
or
Interface B
:
IMPORTANT:
The operation of both network interfaces within one subnet is not
permitted.
NOTE:
The
Link Local
address space 169.254.0.0.0/16 is reserved for internal com-
munication between devices according to RFC 3330. It is not possible to assign an
IP address of this address space!
Operating mode
Select the operating mode of
Interface A
or
Interface B
:
Off:
Switch off network interface.
Static:
A static IP address is assigned.
DHCP:
Obtain IP address from a DHCP server.
IP address:
Only if the Static operating mode is selected, enter the IP
address of the interface.
Netmask
Only if the Static operating mode is selected, enter the net-
mask of the network.
The drop-down list shows the text
Link aggregation active
if the interface has
been added to a network interface group.
In this case, configure the network interfaces in the »Link aggregation«
section.
