Advanced options to switch between
channels
In addition to the options described in the chapter
page 10 you can use advanced options to switch between channels.
Switching via serial device
Switching between channels is possible via a serial device connected to the
RS232
interface of the KVM switch. The serial device can be a special keypad or a com-
puter on which a terminal emulation program is operated.
To establish a serial connection to the KVM switch, the serial device must use the
connection settings listed below.

The following commands are available for switching between channels:
IMPORTANT:
If you want to use a serial device to switch between channels, you
need to apply the connection settings listed below and use the switching com-
mands provided for the KVM switch.

NOTE:
The command is executed
immediately
after the serial device sends the com-
mand.
A message (see below) informs the serial device about the correct execution or the
reason why the switching could not take place.
