1. Hold the hedge trimmer by the rear hand grip (4) and
push the throttle trigger lock (1); this releases the throt-
tle trigger (6).
2. Hold the front hand grip (13) with your other hand.
3. Press the throttle trigger (6).
4. The cutter starts up.
If the throttle trigger (6) is released, the cutter stops
and motor idles.
If the cutter runs despite the throttle trigger not being
pressed, the idling speed must be reduced (see “Main-
tenance“).

To help you to guide the hedge trimmer, the rear hand grip
can be set in one of three working positions.
The rear hand grip may only be adjusted when the cutter
is stopped.
The throttle trigger (6) cannot be operated if adjust-
ment is in progress.
1. Hold the hedge trimmer firmly by the front hand grip
(13) with your left hand.
2. Slide the lock (5) down.
3. Lay the hedge trimmer on the ground in front of you,
with the cutter facing away from you.
4. Place the end of your right foot into the rear hand grip.
5. Hold the front hand grip with your left hand.

1. Slide the ON/OFF switch (3) into the position

2. Press carefully on the primer pump (23) several times
until fuel reaches the pump.

4. Slowly pull out the start cord on the starter handle (11)
until there is resistance.
5. Pull quickly on the starter handle, then slowly release it.
Do not pull the start cord all the way out, and do not let
the starter handle snap back against the motor.

motor has started up, or after pulling it no more than 5–6
times.
7. The motor idles.
8. Allow the tool to idle for about a minute before starting
work.
