v Disconnect the mains plug after use
and inspect the Electric Hoe, in
particular the hoe blades, regularly for
damage and have it repaired if
necessary.

v Do not drag the Electric Hoe over
hard ground (e.g. concrete,
paved paths) or up/down steps.
Working clothes / working area
You are responsible for the safety of
the working area.
v Make sure that there are no other
people (especially children) or animals
anywhere near the working area.
v Wear sturdy working shoes and long
trousers to protect your legs. Never
operate the Electric Hoe while barefoot
or wearing sandals.
v Keep hands and feet out of the range
of the hoe blades – especially when
starting it!
v Ensure that you have a secure
foothold when working.
v Keep the extension cable out of the
cutting range.
Take extra care when walking
backwards. You may stumble!
v When working on slopes, always
work at right angles to the slope and
maintain a safe and firm stance.
v Take extra care when changing
direction on slopes and do not work on
extremely steep slopes.
v Only work when visibility is good.
Interruptions to work
v Never leave the Electric Hoe
unattended at the working area.
v If you interrupt your work, always
leave the Electric Hoe in a safe place
and disconnect the mains plug.
v When changing to another working
area, switch off the Electric Hoe, and
wait until the blades have stopped.

v Familiarise yourself with the
surroundings and pay attention
to possible risks which might be not
audible due to the noise of the
machine.
v Never use the unit when it is raining
or in damp or wet areas.
v Never work directly next to swimming
pools or garden ponds.
Electrical safety
The Electric Hoe may only be used if
the connecting/extension cable is not
damaged.
v The connecting/extension cable must
be checked regularly for damage and
signs of wear and tear.
v Disconnect the mains plug
immediately if the connecting/
extension cable is damaged or
severed.
The coupling socket for the extension
cable must be waterproof
for protection from water splashes.
v Keep the connecting/extension cable
away from the hoe blades.
v Switch off the Electric Hoe and
disconnect the mains plug
before checking whether the extension
cable is entangled or damaged.
v Only use approved extension cables.
Consult your electrician.
We recommend the use of a
residual-current device with a
residual-current rating of 30 mA. Use of
a residual-current device is obligatory if
you are operating the Electric Hoe in
Switzerland.
