If the chain is tensed again when hot, you must check
the chain tension when you have finished work as
when the chain cools down it will tend to tense and if
too tense it could damage the chain.
New chains need some time until the teeth adapt
and this could modify slightly the length of the chain.
This adaptation takes only a couple of minyes when
in use. If you have just changed the chain, remember
to check the tension of the chain after a couple of
minutes using the machine.
6.4. START UP AND STOPPAGE
Starting the machine:
Press down on the security
button and without letting
go, press the on/off switch.
Stopping the machine:
Let go of the on/off
switch.
Letting go of the on/off switch will stop the chain
of the machine in 0.15s. When the switch is not
functioning the conexion of the engine to the chain is
stopped thanks to a clutch. You will observe that the
chain stops even although the engine has not stopped
until a few moments later.
6.5. POINTS TO BE VERIFIED
6.5.1. VERIFYING THE KICK BACK PROTECTION
The kick back is the biggest danger of this
machine. This machine has an automatic
security brake to stop the chain from moving should
an unexpected kick back occur during its use.
To verify the correct function of the automatic brake:
1. Start the machine and keep it on.
2. Push forward the chain brake with your left hand.
3. The chain shoul stop inmediately.
If the chain does not stop inmedately or it takes too
long to stop, take the machine to your after sales
technician.
Check the chain brake prior to each use.
6.5.2. VERIFYING THE OIL LUBRICATION SYSTEM
After start up, accelerate
the chainsaw until the chain
rotates at a medium speed and
verify that the chainsaw has oil
lubrication. To check this, place
the machine as in the figure
and check that oil comes off
the tip of the bar.
6.6 OVERLOAD ALERT
This machine has a
security button that will
cut the power supply to
protect against overload.
If this happens disconnect
the unit from the network
and, after 5 minutes,
reconnect it and press the
protection button.
Possible causes of an overload:
- Chain not sharp enough. Because of this, the end
user has to push too hard for the machine to cut.
- Not enough electric current is reaching the
machine:
1. The electric capacity is not enough for the
machine to work properly.
