7.1. MACHINE HOLDING AND GUIDING
While working always hold the chainsaw firmly with
your hand on the handle.
7.2. SHARPENING THE CHAIN
The chainsaw chain dulls as cuts are made. If you
observe any of the following symptoms it is time to
sharpen the chain:
- More effort is needed to make the cut.
- The cutting path is not straight.
- Vibrations increase.
- When cutting, sawdust is produced instead of chips.
To sharpen the chain, follow the instructions in point
8.2. ”Sharpening the chain”.
7.3. CUTTING WITH THE CHAINSAW
It is recommended that you practice with small
branches in a position that makes it easy to acquire
experience before tackling more complicated cuts.
Always follow the safety rules given in this manual.
Use this machine only for cutting wood. It is forbidden
to cut any material.
Do not use the machine to move objects.
Use the machine gently while cutting. Only use a
slight downward pressure while maintaining the
machine at full power. The own weight of the machine
will be enough to make the cut.
If the chain blocks, do not attempt to pull the
chainsaw while it is running. Stop the chainsaw by
setting the switch to “O” and use a wedge to release
the chainsaw.
7.3.1 FELLING A TREE
Felling a tree is dangerous because of the risk of the
