8.1. SUBSTITUTION OF THE BLADES
The blades suffer wear and tear through use and it
will be necessary to substitute them periodically. Carry
out the following steps:
1. Ensure that the machine is switched off and
unplugged from the mains.
2. Loosen the opening knob.
3. Lift the top cover. In this moment you shall see
the blades.
We recommend that you use security gloves from
here on to avoid possible cuts.
4. Block the blade holder by using a screwdriver.
5. Loosen the blades.
Note: Blades have two cutting edges. You can turn
the blades around 180 and use the new edge. If this
edge is also blunt, we recommend that you change
the blades.
Blades can be filed but this operation can only be
carried out by a professional with experience because
if the blades are not left in equilibrium, the shredder
will vibrate strongly and therefore the machine will be
dangerous for the end user.
6. Turn the blades or substitute.
7. Tighten the blades with the disc blocked (tightening
par 12Nm).
8. Close the cover.
9. Tighten the opening knob.
