This section discusses the major pages in the page
sequence. For information about changing the default
page sequence, refer to page 80.
Map Page
The 76CS Plus features a real-time moving map that
can do much more than just plot your course. The
Map page displays map information (digital cartog-
raphy) that includes navaids, lakes, rivers, coastlines,
cities, and highways. Use the dedicated zoom keys
(
IN
and
OUT
) to adjust the Map page scale.
Two basic map operating modes, position mode and
pan mode, determine what part of the map is shown.
Position mode pans the map to keep your present
position in the display area. The position marker
shows your position on the Map page. The 76CS
Plus always powers up in position mode, with the
last known location centered on the map. When you
press the
Rocker
key, the 76CS Plus enters pan mode,
which moves the map to keep the white arrow
(map pointer) within the display area.
Data fields appear on the top of the screen. The data
fields can be configured to display different informa-
tion. You can also add additional data fields to the
page or select a full screen map without data fields.

Map Orientation
You can orient the Map page two ways: North Up ori-
ents the map like a paper map, while Track Up orients
the map in the direction of travel. When using Track
Up, the North arrow indicates the orientation of the
map. Refer to page 79 to change the map orientation.
