Panning the Map
The panning arrow allows you to pan the map to
view other map areas. As you pan past the edge of
the current map display, the screen moves to provide
continuous map coverage. The position icon stays
in your present location and may not be visible on the
display screen when you pan the map.
To pan the map:
Press Up, Down, Right, or Left on the
Rocker
key.
The panning arrow moves the map so you can
view different parts of the map.

As you move the arrow, the distance and bearing from
your present position to the arrow appears in the data
window, along with the arrow’s position coordinates.
When you zoom in pan mode, the arrow stays cen-
tered on the screen. The arrow’s coordinates appear in
the position field, and the distance and bearing from
your present position update as you move the arrow.
To re-center the map on your current
position:
When you are finished panning the Map, press
QUIT
. The map automatically moves to show your
present location, and the unit returns to position
mode.
Use the arrow to select on-screen map features, which
allows you to review a selected item directly from the
map display. If you want to view the item’s informa-
tion page, highlight the item on the map and press
ENTER
. The information page opens, allowing you
to save the item as a waypoint, view the item on the
map, and go to the item. To search for items around
the item you selected, press the
NAV
key
