Static Port Vertical Speed (Rate of Climb) Test
1.
Command ADTS to change the altitude at the rates shown in the table below.
2.
Wait for ADTS to report that target rates have been achieved.
3.
Verify that the Rate of Climb reported by the Vertical Speed field on the PFD is within the tolerances
specified in the table below:

OAT Probe Check
Check the outside air temperature (OAT) measurement shown on the PFD to ensure it reads ambient temperature.
If no other maintenance is required, continue to Section 5.

GEA 71
Original GEA 71 Reinstalled
No software or configuration loading is required if the original GEA 71 is reinstalled. This does not include units
that were returned for repair as their software and configuration files are deleted during the repair testing process.
Continue to Section 4.6.4.
New, Repaired, or Exchange GEA 71 Installed
If a new, repaired, or exchange GEA 71 is installed, verify the correct software version on the SYSTEM STATUS
page.
If the correct software version is
not
installed:
For installations with GDU software version 6.01 (BP 2006) and earlier, continue to Section 4.6.1.
For installations with GDU software version 7.01 (BP 2007) and later, continue to Section 4.6.3.
If the correct software version is installed:
For installations with GDU software version 6.01 (BP 2006) and earlier, continue to Section 4.6.2.
For installations with GDU software version 7.01 (BP 2007) and later, continue to Section 4.6.3.
CAUTION
Do not cancel a software upload that is in progress. A canceled software upload may result in an
unresponsive GEA 71.
NOTE
When replacing a GEA 71 LRU with GDU v6.01 installed, it is necessary to first verify the GEA
configuration prior to continuing with any other software or configuration file installation. To
verify the GEA configuration, the following steps should be conducted:
1.
Insert the proper G1000 Nav III Loader Card into the top card slot of the PFD.
2.
While holding the ENT key on PFD, apply power by closing the PFD circuit breaker.
3.
When the words
appear in the upper left corner of the PFD, release the
ENT key.
4.
Press the CLR key at the “Do you want to update system files?” prompt.
