VFR CODE
The VFR code can be entered either manually or by pressing the
XPDR
Softkey, then the
VFR
Softkey.
When the
VFR
Softkey is pressed, the pre-programmed VFR code is automatically displayed in the code field
of the Transponder Data Box. Pressing the
VFR
Softkey again restores the previous identification code.
The pre-programmed VFR Code is set at the factory to 1200. If a VFR code change is required, contact a
Garmin-authorized service center for configuration.

IDENT FUNCTION
NOTE:
In Standby Mode, the
IDENT
Softkey is inoperative.
Pressing the
IDENT
Softkey sends an ID indication to Air Traffic Control (ATC). The ID return distinguishes
one transponder from all the others on the air traffic controller’s radar screen. The
IDENT
Softkey appears on
all levels of transponder softkeys. When the
IDENT
Softkey is pressed, a green IDNT indication is displayed in
the mode field of the Transponder Data Box for a duration of 18 seconds.
After the
IDENT
Softkey is pressed while in Mode or Code Selection, the system reverts to the top-level
softkeys.

ADS-B TX
If equipped with a GTX 33 with an extended squitter, the transmission of extended squitters containing
ADS-B out information is enabled/disabled by pressing the
ADS-B TX
Softkey. ADS-B transimssion defaults to
enabled at each power cycle. Do not disable ADS-B transmission unless requested by ATC.
Even with the ADS-B TX enabled, transmission of extended squitters containing ADS-B out information will
vary based on the current mode of the transponder.
