GATE CONTROLLER OPTION
DESCRIPTION
The Gate Controller option enables you to control access to a gate using your Series 1000.
Separate Series 1000 units are required to activate gates and pumps. When you insert your
card(s), the gate controller verifies the card and activates the gate relay.
On a dual card system, access is granted after verification of the single card containing the card
number field. Field separators that occupy account data positions on dual card systems are
converted to zeros for printout purposes.
If you have the Gate Controller option, follow these steps:
1.
Position your vehicle in front of the gate to be accessed.
2.
On the Series 1000, the LCD alternates between ENTER CARD and a personalized system
message. Insert your card fully into the Series 1000 card reader with the magnetic stripe
facing down and to the left. The LCD displays: REMOVE CARD.
3.
Remove the card from the card reader. If you leave a card in the reader for more than five
seconds, an alarm sounds to remind you to remove it.
4. Remove the card from the reader. If you are required to enter a Personal Identification
Number (PIN), the LCD displays: ENTER P.I.N.
Using the keypad, enter your PIN number and press ENTER. To ensure security, an asterisk
(*) appears for each digit you press. If you make a mistake while entering your PIN, press
CLR (clear) and enter it again.
You have three tries to enter the correct PIN. After the third unsuccessful try, the display
returns to ENTER CARD and you must start again at Step 2.
If your system uses the Auto Pin Lockout feature, the card is automatically locked out after
the third unsuccessful PIN entry.
5.
When the card and optional PIN are verified, the Series 1000 activates the gate relay and the
LCD shows GATE ACTIVATED. This message remains until the Series 1000 deactivates
the gate controller relay.
