TROUBLESHOOTING
Only perform the steps described in this instruction manual! All further inspection,
maintenance and repair work must be performed by an authorized service center or
a similarly qualified specialist.
Problem

Odor or burning smell.
Flour or other ingredients
have spilled into the baking
chamber.
Stop the appliance and allow it to cool com-
pletely. Wipe excess flour etc., from the baking
chamber with a paper towel.
Ingredients not blending, sound
of motor can be heard.
Bread pan or kneading paddle
not installed properly.
Make sure kneading paddle is set all the way
on the shaft.
Too many ingredients.
Measure ingredients accurately.
Window is cloudy or covered
with condensation.
May occur during mixing or
rising.
Condensation usually disappears during baking
programs. Clean window well in between uses.
Dough is not blending tho-
roughly; flour and other ingre-
dients are built up on sides
of pan.
Bread pan or kneading paddle
not installed properly.
Make sure bread pan is securely set in unit and
kneading paddle is firmly on the shaft.
Too many ingredients.
Make sure ingredients are measured accurately
and added in the proper order.
Gluten-free dough used.
Scrape the sides of the bread pan with a rubber
spatula.
Bread rises too high or pushed
lid up.
Ingredients not measured pro-
perly (too much yeast, flour,
or no salt).
Measure all ingredients accurately and make
sure sugar and salt have been added. Decrease
yeast amount by 1/4 teaspoon (1.2ml).
Kneading paddle not in bread
pan.
Check installation of kneading paddle.
Bread does not rise; loaf short.
Inaccurate measurement of
ingredients or inactive yeast.
Measure all ingredients accurately. Check
expiration date of yeast and flour. Make sure
liquids are at room temperature.
Lid opened too often during
baking.
Do not open the lid during baking.
Bread has a crater in the top of
the loaf once baked.
Too much yeast or water.
Reduce the amount of yeast and water.
Incorrect program chosen for
the recipe.
Choose another program.
Crust color is too light.
Lid opened too often during
baking.
Do not open the lid during baking.
Crust color is too dark.
Too much sugar in the recipe.
Decrease sugar amount.
Bread loaf is lopsided.
Too much yeast or water.
Reduce the amount of yeast and water.

Measure all ingredients accurately. Reduce the
amount of yeast and water.
Water too hot.
Use room temperature water.
Under-baked bread.
Too much liquid.
Decrease liquid and measure ingredients care-
fully.
Incorrect program chosen.
Choose another program.

Temperature is too high.
Stop the program, unplug the appliance, open the lid,
remove the bread pan and let the appliance cool down
for 15 - 30 min.
E:E0
Malfunction of temperature sensor.
Stop the program and unplug the appliance. Have the
temperature sensor checked by an authorized and quali-
fied service agent.
NOTES FOR DISPOSAL
Dispose of the appliance and packaging must be effected in accordance
with the corresponding local regulations and requirements for electrical
appliances and packaging. Please contact your local disposal company.
Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, use
separate collection facilities. Contact your local government for information regar-
ding the collection systems available. If electrical appliances are disposed of in land-
fills, dumps, or refuse incineration, hazardous substances can leak into the ground-
water or can be emitted into air, thus getting into the food chain, and damaging
your health and well-being as well as poisoning flora and fauna. When replacing
old appliances with new once, the vendor is legally obligated to take back your old
appliance for disposal at least for free of charge.
