Intraplex IntraGuide
5.1 IntraGuide
Intraplex IntraGuide Configuration and Management software works with Intraplex T1 CrossConnect
Systems, T1 CrossConnect Servers, and other Intraplex network access equipment. IntraGuide allows
a user to
●
Communicate with all intelligent channel modules located in each multiplexer
●
Configure CrossConnect products at the time slot level and obtain status information
●
Change module parameters in real time
●
Perform network troubleshooting and maintenance
The IntraGuide online Help gives detailed instructions for using IntraGuide with the T1 CrossConnect
products. IntraGuide requires a PC with
●
Pentium 100 MHz
●
32Mb RAM
●
Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, or WindowsNT 4.0 with Service Pack version 4.0 or higher
●
4Mb of free disk space for the application
●
One available serial port
●
SVGA monitor capable of displaying 16-bit color
5.2 System Setup to Work with IntraGuide
5.2.1
PC Connection to Network
To use IntraGuide, your PC must be connected to a node on the network. There are two ways you can
connect:

A direct connection can be made using an RS-232 cable (Figure 5-1).
●
A remote connection can be made over a phone line (Figure 5-2).
You can use a modem in any configuration shown in either figure. GatesAir Intraplex provides RJ-11
cables and a DB-9 to RJ-11 adapter for the PC serial port. Activate a COM1 or COM2 connection and
set the baud rate of the PC to 9600.
