Replacing or adding a processor

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws holding the retention
bracket to the processor retention module of the processor you want to
replace.

Remove the retention bracket.

Grasp the processor and pull it up and out of the slot.

Place the processor in an antistatic container.

Remove the new processor from its antistatic container.

Align the new processor with the processor slot (note that the processor
slot is keyed so the processor can only be installed one way) and press
firmly to install it.

Reinstall the processor retention bracket onto the processor retention
module.

Replace the foam cover on the electronics bay.
14
Reinstall and secure the memory module retaining bracket with the
attached captive screw.
