Connecting the Gyro
Connect the gyro to the receiver output for the tail servo with the
3-pin connection cable (3).
Black = minus
Red = plus
White = Impulse
Connect the 1-pin control input (yellow = impulse line) of the
gyro (2) to a free channel of the receiver that is controlled with a
slider at the transmitter.
The connections on the receiver that have to be assigned
depend on the manufacturer of the remote control and
can be read up in the documents on the respective
remote control.
The tail rotor servo (7) is connected directly to the connection
plug for the tail servo (4). Ensure correct polarity of the servo
plug (8).
Launching the Gyro
Before taking the gyro into operation, all tail mixing programmes programmed in the transmitter, such as revolution mix or
gyro fadeout mix, must be deactivated.
The gyro has no function switch of its own. The power supply is provided via the 3-pin plug connection which is connected
to the receiver. Once the receiving system is switched on, the gyro is in operation.
The steering lever for the tail function and the associated trim lever must always be in their centre positions before you
operate the receiver system and thus also the gyro. The tail rotor should then be aligned so that the helicopter has no
tendency to turn to the side (factory settings) in hovering flight.
Gyro Initialisation
The gyro must be initialised for correct function. This internal
coordination is carried out automatically after switching on the
receiving system and lasts approx. 2 - 3 seconds. During this time
the model and the gyro must not be moved or turned.
To indicate initialisation, the LED S is lit orange first and then red
(normal mode) or green (AVCS mode), depending on the operating
mode selected. The LEDs 1- 3 light up red first, then green, then
they go out.
Attention!
Since the gyro only works properly if it is initialised in
AVCS mode, the slider for gyro sensitivity must be set to
AVCS mode (heading hold) before initialisation.
