Ethernet Port
The cable connection configuration for the ethernet port depends on your network configuration:
•
For a SymDec 16 plus 4 that connects directly to a hub, use a straight through connection.
•
For a SymDec 16 plus 4 that connects directly to a PC, use a cross-over connection.
Consult with your network administrator or IS professional for the specific type of configuration. See

Network menu
on page 59 for information about configuring the Ethernet settings in the menu system
RS-485/RS-422 I/O connectors
These (2) serial I/O ports can be configured as either RS-485 or RS-422 and are used for Pan, Tilt, Zoom
control of PTZ cameras. Use
Serial Communications
on page 78 to configure these ports. See tables 6 and 7 for
the serial pinouts for each configuration.
