TMC Y-adapter with signal amplifier
for connection to wire-antennas

Article-No.: 1002-32

Function

- optimized TMC reception via car antenna
- amplified the antenna signal for TMC and radio
- suitable for antennas with phantom power
- for connection to wire-antennas, special for navigations without TMC-connector

The TMC Y-Adapter

with amplifier

 allows

improved TMC reception

 via the car antenna,

the antenna signal for radio and TMC are amplified.

The device is suitable for Navi's without TMC-Connector.

(e.g.

TomTom, Garmin

Connection in Vehicle

    Using the contact-clamp

1. Strip the end of wire-
antenna (ca. 10mm) and
twist the wire

2. Open clamp until the
handle is fixed in upright
position. Feed in wire-
antenna in open clamp-
contact.

3. Close clamp and check
the fix positon of wire-
antenna

Connection:

Remove antenna cable from car radio and

plug the Y-adapter

between

 (

see step 1 and 2

).

If the plug of the Y-adapter are not identical to the connectors in the vehicle, you will find adapters like DIN, Fakra etc. in
our online shop (

www.ge-tectronic.de/onlineshop

 ).

Connect the stripped end of

wire-antenna

with clamp-contact like described details. (

step 3

).

The adapter receives its

operating voltage

 through the

phantom power

of radio. (phantom power: 12V voltage output

from the antenna connector on the radio, for use with active antenna)
If your radio

no phantom power

, or you are

not sure

, you have to connect the operating voltage with the

red wire (

step 4)

If possible, using for 12V power supply the "

switching antenna output

" on the radio to avoid

discharging the battery

and interference

with the FM/TMC receiver causes trough the electrical system.

If no "switching antenna output" on your radio available, you can also use the switching output for external amplifier
(remote). Does the radio do not have these connections using ignition voltage.

More Tip´s:

Look for a tight fit of the connectors and try to avoid tension. You can use a adhesive tape to secure the
connector and protect the connection while mounting the radio.

the quality of the TMC reception is affected by many factors (e.g. local conditions, antenna or cable laying).

Place the Y-adapter not in the vicinity of the navi-charger-plug
