Dialog RF Electronic Thermostat Installation Instructions
Note
The cooling unit may have a
delay before start up. See
the HAI Installation Manual
for more information.
4. Set the mode to “COOL”. Use the down arrow key to lower the temperature setting
below the current temperature. Ensure that the cooling unit turns on. Set the mode to
“OFF”. Ensure that the cooling unit turns off. (Test this option only if air conditioning is
a part of your system.)
If the panel and RF Thermostat are communicating properly, the thermostat will display the
Hold and Remote icons when the panel is armed to Doors & Windows and Motion Sensors.
If the thermostat or system do not perform as stated above, recheck all the wiring.
Perform a sensor test at the security panel and verify the thermostat successfully replies.
Operation
The thermostat uses low and high temperature limits to save energy. Temperature limits set in
the panel determine when the heat or air conditioning turn on.
For example, if the RF Thermostat’s high limit (Cooling Set Point) is set to 80° F, it prevents
the air conditioner from turning on until the temperature exceeds 80° F. If the RF Thermo-
stat’s low limit (Heating Set Point) is set to 70° F, it prevents the furnace from turning on
until the temperature drops below 70° F.
Note
Refer to your Simon 3 Instal-
lation and Owner’s Manuals
for more information on
using the thermostat with the
security system.
The low and high range for the RF Thermostat is 51° to 91°F. See Options 81-Heating Set
Point and 82-Cooling Set Point in the Simon 3 Manuals for more information.
When the Simon 3 panel is armed to Doors & Windows and Motion Sensors, the Energy
Saver Mode is on. When the panel is disarmed, the Energy Saver Mode is off. If there are no
Motion Sensors in the system, the Motion Sensors button must still be pressed. When the
system is disarmed the thermostat heating and cooling points return to the normal settings.
