8 . 5 STATIONARY CONTACT

The stationary arcing, i ntermediate, and main
contacts each have a different function during current
conduction and c urrent interruption . For this reason,
these contacts are made using d ifferent material
com positions . Also, the different functions requ i re
that the contacts be replaced in configu rations shown
in Figs. 44, 47 and 48.
Fig. 49 shows the stationary contacts and how they
d i ffer from one another. The AKR 30 and 30H main
and arcing contacts are rectangu lar, but the arcing
contacts have two of their corners notched . The AKR
30L, AKR 50, AKR 50H, A KRT 50 and AKRT 50H main
and intermediate contacts are rectang u lar, but the
main contacts have two of their corners notched . The
intermed iate contacts have all fou r corners notched .
