Safety monitor indicator and
alarm reset
A button with blue indicator light, labeled Reset, is located on the system's inlet side.
The light indicates the status for safety monitoring. After an alarm, the button is used
to reset safety monitoring.
For UNICORN, More details are provided in the Software Design Specification provi-
ded in the documentation package.
For DeltaV, refer to the software documentation package.
In the table below the different type of indication lights are described.
Light (display)
Meaning and suggested actions
No light
The system is working within safety monitoring limits.
Steady light
A critical limit is detected by the safety monitoring, or the EMERGEN-
CY STOP button has been pushed. An alarm is displayed in the
UNICORN control system.
Flashing light 1 Hz
The cause of the alarm is addressed and safety monitoring is ready to
be reset by pushing the Reset button.
Flashing light 10 Hz
The user has activated a silent-overpressure mode by pushing the
Reset button for at least 20 ± 5 sec. Refer to the Software Design
Specification for more information about the mode.
To deactivate the mode and reset safety monitoring, restart the sys-
tem and then reset by pushing the Reset button for 20 ± 5 sec.
