Disassembling the column
Introduction
This section describes how to disassemble the column before performing maintenance,
service or cleaning procedures.
Equipment required for
disassembly/assembly
•
Crane or hoist
•
Forklift or other suitable mechanical lifting equipment for lowering and lifting the
bottom end plate
•
Blocks for resting column components on
•
Container of suitable size for column components, containing warm (50°C) water
•
Waste tubing and waste containers
•
Wrenches
•
Hex/Allen keys
•
100% ethanol for cleaning and lubricating
•
Clean rubber gloves to prevent grease from fingers becoming transferred to metal
surfaces
Removing the top end plate and
adapter
The top end plate and adapter are removed most easily as one unit.
Before beginning to disassemble the column, make sure that all waste tubing
connections and waste containers are in place.
