•
Online
: This field indicates if the boiler is online or offline. It is not necessarily the same as being
available for use in the MGC optimization calculations.
•
Input Isoch Mode
: This field indicates if the boiler is in isochronous or droop mode, as read from the
boiler by the MGC.
•
Availability
: Availability is declared by the boiler. This field indicates if the boiler can be controlled by
the MGC and included in the optimization problem solved by the MGC. An online boiler is not
necessarily an available boiler. The availability signal is built into the boiler’s local controller based on
some parameters and is read by the MGC.
The following field mappings apply to the AO/DO control points that are to be mapped to the Microgrid
controller >
Boiler Asset
configuration page:
•
Power Ref:
This field refers to the heat power reference points of boilers, in kW. Their values are
computed by the MGC dispatch algorithm.
•
Start:
Start/stop is a command. When the MGC sends the start command, the boiler comes online
after some time.
•
Output Isoch Mode
: This field indicates if the boiler is to be in isochronous or droop mode, as sent to
the boiler from the MGC.
•
Operation mode:
This is an Analog output which refers to the current microgrid operation mode of the
asset (as described in section System Settings on page 19, see the Active Mode setting).
•
Watchdog:
This is a Digital Output command used to inform the asset that the MGC controller is
active. A Digital Output command is sent on this point with the value toggling between 0 and 1 every
10 seconds.

configuration page:
•
Net Meter Power:
This field indicates the values of demanding heat powers in kW read from different
heat loads in the system.
•
Online:
This field indicates if the heat load is online or offline, meaning consuming heat or not.
•
Operation mode:
This is an Analog output which refers to the current microgrid operation mode of the
asset (as described in section System Settings on page 19, see the Active Mode setting).
