There are no specific dangers associated with a power failure or other unplanned
shutdown of the QuickPanel View Keypad. In general, programs are retained in
FLASH memory and user data can be retained in battery-backed SRAM. Some
operating system settings are retained only with user intervention, so in order to
carry out a graceful shutdown of the QuickPanel View Keypad, we recommend
you perform the following procedure.

1. Quit any programs that are running and wait for all file operations to complete.
2. If you have not changed operating system settings (e.g., brightness or touch screen sensitivity) or do not want to
save the changes, remove AC power from the 24VDC supply.
3. To save changes to operating system settings (e.g., brightness, touch screen sensitivity), run
Backup
(see
page 16) and run Reboot (see page 17). When the Windows CE desktop reappears, remove AC power from the
24VDC supply.

For enclosure mounting, cut an opening in the panel according to the
specifications given with the following diagram.
Notes:

For compliance to NEMA 4, 4x, and 12 qualification, the unit must be mounted
in a comparably NEMA rated (IP56 equivalent) panel or enclosure.
■
For compliance to ATEX agency qualification, the unit must be mounted in an
IP66 panel or enclosure.
