High Capacity MOD Option Installation Manual
3
Please refer to Table 1-2 for the intersystem compatibility matrix. This table shows what to expect if a media
written on one system is inserted into another system. “OK” means that the operator can label, read, and write to
the media. The Maxoptix media also has a larger storage capacity (1.2GB or 2.3GB) compared to the Pioneer
media (650MB). This means that the Maxoptix media storage for 512x512 images is approximately 1900 per side
for a 1.2GB and approximately 3800 images for a 2.3GB media. Please note that only a 512 bytes per sector
media should be used. A 1024 bytes per sector media will not work.
Please refer to your respective Operator’s Manual (Signa for MR and HiSpeed Advantage or HiLight Advantage
for CT) for details on the archive functions of saving and restoring images. These functions remain the same as
with the Pioneer drive.

Table 1-2: Intersystem Compatibility Matrix
Table
1-2
: Intersystem compatibility matrix for Maxoptix magneto-optical disk drive. Top: CT Systems only
Bottom: MR Systems only
*Some CT/i and MR scanners will only support a certain size of media. Please check with your GE service engineer for drive
and media compatibility.
** If media is labeled on CT/i software revision 4.0 or earlier, the system has Read only capability. If media is labeled on CT/i
software revision 4.1 or later, the system has both Read and Write capabilities.
Note 1:This system uses DICOM format media; therefore, media will attach, but the system will not be able to read images on
these media. The following message will appear on the screen: “Optical disk attach failed. Nothing can be viewed.”
